With all the rains we had last week in Southern California, our rivers, streams, wetlands, and estuaries have filled up with plastics and trash of all kinds.

This week, I looked at a place we've cleaned up many times in the past, and it is a mess.

Before-after

Do you live in Southern California (or are you visiting)?

Great! Do you have a couple of hours to devote to removing hundreds of pounds of plastic before it gets to the ocean?

If so, let’s meet up at 9:30 am on Sunday morning, December 16th.  The site is in Seal Beach, which is on the border of the Seal Beach National Wildlife Refuge.

If you are interested, please send me an email at volunteer@oceandefenders.org, and I'll send you the specifics.

What do you need to bring, you ask? The only things you need to bring are: shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty, water, and sunscreen.

I hope you can make it!

Let’s defend the coastline together, by stopping this flow of trash from reaching the ocean.
